DIY knot dress

Last summer I saw so many knot dresses about, Topshop had tie dye ones and they look so easy to make so I thought I'd give it a go and show you my findings.

What you need -
1. Oversized t-shirt (if too small will be uber mini dress) or dress that don't mind cutting in two
2. Sewing scissors

And that's it! No need to sew or glue perfect for me who is a bit of a novice when it comes to sewing.

STEP 1

Lie dress or oversized t-shirt on flat service so when you come to cutting it will be nice and straight.

STEP 2

Cut the sleeves if you wish to make them cap sleeves- I did as thought would be more suitable for summer - literally cut the sleeves going upwards starting at the arm pit in straight line.

Then cut the dress in two.

STEP 3

Cut a hole in top half of dress - make sure you don't cut it too near the bottom though as may tear.

Cut about 4-5inchs into the bottom half of dress in straight line - this will become your knot.

STEP 4

Last step is most important - just pass the two front cuts of the dress through top hole and knot underneath - have a mess about with the knot until you get it looking neat. Do the same with the back of the dress.

AND THAT'S IT!!
